What are the exercises for treating cervical spondylosis?

With the increasing competition in the workplace, especially for some scientific researchers, in order to achieve their research goals as soon as possible, they will work in front of the computer for a long time. Some even sit for a whole day. This puts a lot of pressure on our cervical spine and also leads to the occurrence of cervical spondylosis. In fact, doing aerobics is very effective in relieving cervical spondylosis. So what are the aerobics for treating cervical spondylosis?

How to prevent cervical spondylosis

Action 1: Shaking your head

Shaking your head in a circular motion around your neck is both simple and effective in preventing cervical spondylosis. Nodding your head back and forth and left and right has the same effect.

Action 2: M-shaped exercise

Imagine there is a piece of white paper in front of you, with your neck as the pen holder and your chin as the pen tip, and you write the word "米" repeatedly on the "white paper".

Action 3: Look left, right, up and down

Imagine yourself standing in the middle of a vertical cross, and look left, right, up, and down.

Action 4: 10:10 exercise

At 10:10, the hour and minute hands of the clock are at symmetrical angles. Stand or sit upright, raise your arms in a "10:10" position, lift your head and chest, and take a deep breath to relieve pressure on your cervical spine.

Action 5: Chest expansion exercise

There are three main types: bend your arms upward into an arc, with your fingers touching your shoulders, and rotate them clockwise and counterclockwise several times respectively; bend your arms and move them back and forth from the chest to behind your shoulder blades; cross your hands around your shoulders and rotate your chest left and right.

Symptoms of cervical spondylosis

1. Dizziness

Vertigo is a common symptom in patients with vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis. Vertigo symptoms are induced by changes in patient position due to extension or rotation of the neck. Vertigo caused by ischemic lesions of the vestibular nucleus usually lasts for a short time and disappears within a few seconds to a few minutes.

During the onset of the disease, the patient may have mild absence and movement disorders, manifested as unsteady walking or leaning to one side; vertigo caused by ischemic lesions of the labyrinth is not accompanied by impaired consciousness. Vertigo caused by vestibular neuropathy is a central vertigo; vertigo caused by labyrinthine ischemic lesions is a peripheral vertigo.

Some patients feel nauseous and cannot raise their heads during acute onset. A few patients have symptoms such as double vision, eye tremors, tinnitus and deafness.

2. Headache

Patients with vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis usually experience headache and dizziness at the same time when the disease occurs. Among them, occipital neuropathy is the main cause of headaches, because the occipital artery, a branch of the vertebral artery, supplies the greater occipital nerve. Clinically, vertebral artery spasm leads to cervical spondylosis.

The ischemia of the greater occipital nerve causes headache symptoms in the area innervated by the greater occipital nerve. The symptoms are intermittent throbbing pain, radiating from the back of the neck on one side to the occipital region and half of the head, with a burning sensation. A small number of patients have pain hypersensitivity and feel obvious pain when touching the head.

From the above article, we can see that the aerobics that can relieve cervical spondylosis are not as complicated as we think. Many movements are daily movements that are easy to do in our lives. Of course, I would like to emphasize that in order to better prevent the occurrence of cervical spondylosis, we need to get up and exercise once an hour when facing the computer, so as to better reduce the pressure on the cervical spine.
