Does Yoga Improve Sleep?

Can yoga improve sleep? Is it helpful for sleep? Poor sleep will affect the mood of many people, causing many people's mood to be affected, and will also have a great impact on the spirit. Therefore, many people choose to do yoga to improve their sleep. However, some people think that improving sleep itself is difficult. I don't know whether simple yoga can improve sleep. So, does yoga improve sleep?

Yoga can help you sleep better. Studies have found that yoga movements can change hormone levels, thereby reducing brain arousal and blood pressure.

Sleep is the net result of the mutual attraction between the sleep mechanism and the wake mechanism. People with insomnia often think that they can't sleep because of problems with the sleep mechanism. In fact, it is caused by excessive arousal of the wake mechanism, that is, autonomic nervous system disorder, that is, excessive excitement of the sympathetic nerves.

1. Assisted kneeling child's pose (1 to 5 minutes).

Equipment: 1 or 2 yoga blankets, 1 rectangular yoga pillow (or 3 or more yoga blankets).

practice:

1. Kneel on the ground with your knees apart and your buttocks sitting on your heels. If you feel tightness in your calves or discomfort in your ankles or soles of your feet, you can fold a yoga blanket single or double and place it under your calves to reduce the pressure on your ankles and soles of your feet.

2. Place the pillow between your legs and use a yoga blanket folded into a rectangular shape to adjust the height until you feel your body is relaxed.

3. Slowly bend your body forward and lie on the pillow, turn your head to one side and stay still for a while, then turn to the other side, and relax your shoulders and neck evenly on both sides.

4. Place your arms comfortably on both sides of the pillow, close your eyes, breathe easily, and stay in this position for 1 to 5 minutes.

Benefits of exercise:

It is similar to the posture of a fetus in the mother's womb and has a calming effect.

Relax and soothe your lower back, relieve stiff shoulders and neck, and calm your thoughts.

2. Forest stream style/floating static style (3 to 8 minutes).

Yoga can improve sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, you can do this kind of yoga before going to bed to improve your sleep. With a good sleep, you will be in the best spirits. Therefore, many people must grasp the regular and reasonable time when doing yoga. You cannot do yoga too late, as this will definitely be uncomfortable for the body. In short, you should not do yoga after 8 o'clock in the evening.
