What should I prepare for mountain climbing?

Mountain climbing is a good activity that can cultivate sentiment and fully exercise the body. Regular mountain climbing can promote our blood circulation, speed up metabolism, make our skeleton stronger, and delay aging. Regular mountain climbing can also make us more energetic, which is very helpful for improving work and study efficiency. So what do you need to prepare for mountain climbing?

Climbing equipment:

You don't need any equipment to climb some small hills in scenic spots in a short period of time, but don't wear leather shoes, new shoes, high heels and sandals. These shoes are not suitable for walking long distances, uneven roads and slippery roads, and they are prone to blisters on the soles of your feet and injuries to the skin of your feet. Lightweight sports shoes, hiking shoes and rubber-soled cloth shoes are suitable for mountaineering.

But if you want to climb a wild mountain, a mountain with a certain height and difficulty in climbing, it is best to have the following equipment:

(1) Map, (2) Compass, (3) Headlamp (with spare bulb and batteries), (4) Spare food and water, (5) Spare clothing, (6) Sunglasses, (7) Swiss Army knife, (8) Fire, (9) Lighter, (10) First aid kit.

Essential medicines for mountain climbing:

In the summer, you can prepare the following common medicines in case of emergency.

1. Preparatory medicines for preventing heatstroke: Ren Dan, Shi Di Shui, Huoxiang Zhengqi Shui, etc.

2. Alternative medicines for skin itching caused by mosquito bites and insect bites: Fengyoujing, cooling oil, safflower oil, etc.

Precautions

(1) Elderly people who are weak or have just recovered from illness, as well as those who suffer from cardiovascular disease (such as high blood pressure, coronary artery blood supply obstruction and poor compensatory function), dizziness, chest tightness, and palpitations should not participate in mountain climbing activities.

(2) Before climbing, you need to survey (or inquire) about the terrain and topography, understand the structure and height of the mountain, and identify dangerous areas, rocky areas, and areas with dense vegetation.

(3) When climbing mountains that are filled with sand, gravel, pumice, and wild vines such as shrubs, do not grab onto loose grass roots or branches. If you accidentally fall while climbing, you should lie down facing the grass slope to protect yourself.

(4) If you feel short of breath while climbing, do not force yourself to continue climbing. You can rest where you are and take 10 to 12 deep breaths until your breathing becomes even, then continue climbing slowly.

(5) Shoes should fit your feet (rubber shoes and hiking shoes are preferred), high heels are not allowed, and clothes should be loose (sportswear and casual clothes are preferred);

When hiking, be sure to bring enough water or drinks, because hiking consumes a lot of physical strength and body water, we will drink more water than usual. When hiking, be sure not to take some undeveloped paths, because this can easily lead to danger. It is best to go hiking with family or friends to avoid going alone.
