Seated Yoga Action Introduction

Before getting started with yoga, you need to have a good foundation in basic skills, and the yoga sitting posture is something you must master when practicing yoga. However, there are various yoga sitting postures. When you get into the right posture, you must relax and not keep your body stiff. Keep yourself in a quiet state. Next, let’s take a look at what yoga postures we need to master.

【Easy sitting】

This is the simplest sitting posture, suitable for beginners to practice yoga movements and meditation. You can modify this sitting position slightly to suit your situation (for example, if you have injured one of your knees). Then when you sit down, you can stretch one leg straight.

Posture Description:

1. Sit on the ground; stretch your legs forward and breathe naturally.

2. Cross your legs and place your left foot under your right leg and your right foot under your left leg, while keeping your back straight and your jaw tucked in.

【Lotus Sitting】

Lotus sitting is the oldest yoga posture. It is the cornerstone of all postures. Its method is similar to the cross-legged sitting method of meditation.

Posture Description:

1. Sit flat on the ground with your legs straight, hold your right ankle with both hands, place your right leg on your left thigh with the sole facing up.

2. Hold your left ankle with both hands and place your left leg on your right thigh with the sole facing up.

3. Straighten your back, tuck your chin in, and keep your navel in line with your apex.

4. After completing the lotus position, breathe quietly and naturally until you feel calm.

【Thunderbolt Sitting】

Thunderbolt is the gateway to other yoga postures and must be practiced frequently to achieve proficiency.

1. Kneel on your knees with your heels apart and your toes slightly touching but not overlapping.

2. Sit back on the inside of your feet and place your palms down on your thighs.

3. After completing the Thunderbolt Pose, breathe naturally and focus your mind on the tip of your nose.

There are bound to be many seated yoga postures, but today I will explain to you three sitting postures. These are the most basic knowledge and are also the first things that beginners learn when they get started. If you are ready to join the ranks of yoga enthusiasts, then let's learn the basic skills together. It is best to lay a solid foundation for these basic skills.
