Therefore, it is not appropriate to do strenuous exercise immediately after a meal. Formal training and intense competitions are best carried out at least 1.5 hours after a meal. But for people who regularly participate in sports activities, they can do any exercise other than strenuous activities after a ten-minute to half an hour rest after a meal.

During strenuous exercise, blood flow to the limbs increases, affecting the blood supply to the gastrointestinal tract, affecting the secretion of gastric juice, and making food digestion difficult. At the same time, the stomach volume increases after a meal, and exercise will cause gastroptosis.

After a meal, the parasympathetic nerves that control the stomach become excited, and most of the blood is concentrated in the stomach and liver. If you exercise right after a meal, firstly, the stomach that stores a lot of food will be jolted and will constantly pull the ligaments that fix the stomach. In the long run, this will cause the ligaments to loosen and lead to gastroptosis.
