How to choose golf clubs

Most people may not know much about the selection of golf clubs. In fact, if the golf clubs are not selected well, then it will be affected when playing golf. You may even feel that there is a problem with the angle when you play the ball, which will make it difficult for you to score a goal. You will feel that you need to use a lot of hand strength when playing. If you are not careful, you may hurt your hand, so you must choose a good golf club.

1. Club head size

Driver heads are getting bigger and bigger, with the current limit being 460CC. This year, the vast majority of clubs are approaching or reaching that limit. The larger the club head, the higher the tolerance value, but it also comes with greater torque that makes it difficult for the club face to return to the straight position, and other problems. To this end, manufacturers use shafts with less torque to correct this problem, and also use a large number of shafts manufactured by independent shaft manufacturers as standard equipment. There are not many optional club head sizes at present. Only a few manufacturers such as Miura and Tom Wishon high-end or custom manufacturers will produce smaller sizes. The rest basically achieve the maximum value allowed by the current rules. If the visual effect is acceptable, there is no harm in choosing a slightly larger club head, but remember to consider the torque of the shaft. If conditions permit, it is best to replace it with an independent brand shaft, which can be more stable.

2. Clubface Angle

The common face angles of driver woods range from 8.5 to 12 degrees (HT), and in 2009, the Tom Wishon catalogue featured an ultra-high trajectory driver with a 15.5-degree face angle. The different face angles of driver woods are mainly to match the swing characteristics and trajectory characteristics of the user. In order to choose the appropriate No. 1 wood club face angle, golfers need to understand their own swing characteristics. When swinging the club, the angle between the club head's forward path and the target line is called the angle of attack. There are positive attack angles from bottom to top, zero attack angles for horizontal attack, and negative attack angles from top to bottom. The specific way to judge is that if the angle when your driver swing hits the sweet spot is lower than the angle marked on the club, then your swing must be a negative attack angle, and vice versa.

In order to produce a proper trajectory, golfers with negative attack angles should choose a club with a larger club face angle, while golfers with positive attack angles can choose different club face angles according to their needs to optimize their driving distance.

Many golfers may not know what angle of attack their swing will produce. We're going to choose to simplify a bit here. If more than half of your driving distances exceed 260 yards, a club face of about 9 degrees is more appropriate, otherwise a club face of about 10 degrees is more appropriate.

3. Clubface Height

There are two common driver face designs: shallow faces and deep faces. In order to ensure a high MOI value, today's drivers generally have a flatter head and a relatively shallow club face. For most golfers, the driver deviates from the sweet spot mainly in the toe and heel directions of the club, so a shallow and flat club face is more suitable. If your driver often hits the ground or the crown (top edge of the club), it is best to choose a product with a higher club face (deep club face).

Not only are there certain requirements for the length of the golf club, but there are also requirements for the material of the golf club. Different materials of golf clubs can be selected according to each person's situation. Even the angle of the golf club has very high requirements. These requirements can be adjusted according to your own requirements, and you can choose the golf club that suits you best.
