As a source of energy, foods high in carbohydrates should be consumed after exercise to increase insulin levels in the body. Hormones retain substances that are beneficial to the body. If insulin is not produced at the levels the body needs, the damaging catabolic process begins after exercise. Necessary carbohydrate foods include honey, noodles, bananas, oatmeal, bran bread and freshly squeezed juice.

4. It is recommended to drink a glass of protein or a cocktail containing branched-chain amino acid milk protein immediately after exercise. This will increase the efficiency of protein synthesis in muscle tissue by 2 times. The composition of protein affects amino acid secretion and muscle recovery.

5. Do not consume any food or drink containing caffeine, such as chocolate, tea and coffee, within 2 hours after exercise. Otherwise, caffeine will hinder insulin's processing of glycogen in the liver and muscles. If you exercise in the evening, you should not eat anything 2 hours before exercise.
