Things to note when climbing a mountain, English for climbing a mountain

Since mountain climbing does not require special equipment and is an outdoor aerobic exercise, it has become the preferred way for people living in downtown areas to exercise. No matter they are old, young or middle-aged, they can arrange the way of climbing according to their own physical condition, such as the beautiful hills in the city or the mountains in the suburbs, or in the early morning or on weekends. Mountain climbing is an excellent aerobic exercise. If you climb a hill at a speed of 2 kilometers per hour for 30 minutes, the energy consumed is about 500kcal, which is equivalent to the energy consumed by swimming for 45 minutes. Although mountain climbing is fun, there are some things to pay attention to. If you don't control the intensity well, it is easy to hurt your body.

Therefore, you must do warm-up exercises before climbing a mountain to get your muscles and joints moving. Similarly, after climbing, you must also do some cleanup and relaxation activities, such as continuing to walk on flat ground for about 5 minutes after going down the mountain. It is best to keep your heart rate at 120-140 beats per minute during mountain climbing.

Things to note when climbing a mountain

(1) Elderly people who are weak or have just recovered from illness, as well as those suffering from cardiovascular disease (such as high blood pressure, coronary artery blood supply obstruction and poor compensatory function), dizziness, chest tightness, and palpitations should not participate in mountain climbing activities.

(2) Before climbing, you need to survey (or inquire) about the terrain and topography, understand the structure and height of the mountain, and identify dangerous areas, rocky areas, and areas with dense vegetation.

(3) When climbing mountains that are filled with sand, gravel, pumice, and wild vines such as shrubs, do not grab onto loose grass roots or branches. If you accidentally fall while climbing, you should lie down facing the grass slope to protect yourself.

(4) If you feel breathless or short of breath during climbing, do not force yourself to continue climbing. You can rest where you are and take 10 to 12 deep breaths until your breathing becomes even, then continue climbing slowly.
