Calcium deficiency can increase the permeability of cell membranes. Calcium ions play an important role in maintaining the integrity of cell membranes. Low calcium levels can increase the permeability of the skin and mucous membranes to water, reduce skin elasticity, and cause unexplained skin itching, edema, and skin urticaria.

Young women need to consume 20 to 30 grams of calcium during the entire pregnancy process, with an average of more than 100 mg per day. Calcium deficiency during pregnancy and increased vascular smooth muscle tension are one of the important causes of gestational hypertension and will also affect the normal development of the fetus.

Nowadays, calcium deficiency among young women is increasing day by day. The reasons are as follows:

One is that drinking coffee has become a fashion, and coffee stimulates the adrenal cortex and increases urine output. Adenosine in coffee can also accelerate the excretion of calcium in urine.

The second reason is that young girls love beauty but are afraid of getting fat. Many of them do not eat milk, pork liver, and soy products, but prefer to eat snacks, resulting in insufficient calcium intake.

The third is fear of sun exposure, which leads to insufficient synthesis of vitamin D in the body. It is currently believed that the basic measure for young women to supplement calcium should be to pay attention to food intake, among which milk should be the best source of calcium for the human body. Studies have shown that young women who drink milk are 5 cm taller than those who do not drink milk, have a 6% higher bone density, and their anemia rate drops from 28% to 0.
