The dangers of stimulants

In pursuit of the principle of fairness and justice in sports competitions, one thing that is explicitly prohibited is the use of stimulants. Many athletes will secretly use stimulants in order to achieve good results. Stimulants can help develop athletes' potential and improve their performance to a certain extent, but if an athlete secretly uses stimulants, then the competition will lose its meaning.

In addition to prohibiting the use of stimulants in sports games for the sake of fairness, another reason is that stimulants are very harmful to the human body. This is because they are psychostimulant drugs that can easily control the human brain.

The use of stimulants will cause great harm to people's physiology and psychology, causing the users to suffer from heart failure, excitement and mania, masculinization of adult women, premature baldness in men, prostatitis, prostate hypertrophy, diabetes, heart disease, etc., seriously damaging people's physical and mental health. Long-term use often leads to personality changes, such as impulsivity, aggression, irritability and suspicion, and can also lead to delusional psychosis. Stopping the drug after long-term or heavy use may cause withdrawal syndrome, which is manifested as depression, fatigue, sleep disorders and frequent dreams.

Preparations that activate or enhance the activity of the central nervous system. These include amphetamines, cocaine, caffeine and other xanthines, niacin, and synthetic appetite suppressants such as phenmetrazine or methylphenidate. Stimulants can cause symptoms of intoxication, including tachycardia, dilated pupils, increased blood pressure, hyperreflexia, sweating, chills, nausea or vomiting, and unusual behavior such as fighting, grandiosity, hypervigilance, agitation, and impaired judgment.

Stimulants have a very strong stimulating effect on the human body. If used on athletes, they can improve their performance by stimulating their muscles. However, this method is illegal. Now in large-scale international competitions, athletes will be subjected to urine tests before the competition for the sake of fairness. The purpose is to check whether the athletes have used stimulants.
