How to breathe while practicing yoga

Principle 2: Emphasize the asana of a certain part of the body, and take a few deep breaths while staying in the posture. For example, when doing the Downward Dog pose, push your hips up to the top, support your body with your hands and feet on the ground. When viewed from the side, the pose looks like a triangle. Take four deep breaths here at this point, strengthening the stretching of the muscles in your back and legs.

Principle 3: Breathing can be faster during difficult movements, and deeper during postures that emphasize balance. If we compare Shoulder Stand and Tree Pose, of course the breathing in Shoulder Stand will be more rapid, while the breathing in Tree Pose will be more gradual.

Breathe according to your own situation

For beginners, it is not easy to just remember the key points of the asanas. It is good enough if you can pay attention to breathing. But if you are an experienced yogi, please pay attention to your breathing in each asana, especially it is best to combine each movement with abdominal breathing. Because deep and slow breathing allows you to inhale more oxygen and relax your body. When facing more difficult asanas, please challenge them with deep breathing.

Remember, flexibility in yoga is partly innate, but much more of it is a combination of body, mind, and breath.
