What is the difference between barbell bench press and dumbbell bench press?

What is the difference between barbell bench press and dumbbell bench press?

Barbell bench press and dumbbell bench press are different. When doing dumbbell bench press, the range of motion of the hands is wider, while when doing barbell bench press, the movement has certain limitations. The distance between the barbell and the human body does not change, and the angle of rotation is also very limited. Personally, I think it is better to use dumbbell bench press, which can exercise many muscles and improve body flexibility. But you must pay attention to exercise and must persist.

The barbell bench press and dumbbell bench press are different!

1. When doing a barbell bench press, the hand grip distance remains unchanged. With the shoulder joint as the axis, the humerus (upper arm) has a limited rotation angle, so the working distance of the pectoralis major is shorter.

2. When doing dumbbell bench press, the movement trajectory of both hands is freer, and the angle of rotation of the upper arm is almost 90 degrees, so the pectoralis major muscle works over a longer distance and the stimulation of the pectoralis major muscle is deeper.

3. Since the dumbbell bench press has a freer trajectory and is more difficult to control, the weight is generally much smaller than that of a barbell press. However, a barbell bench press can increase the weight and stimulate the development of absolute muscle strength.

4. Generally, the pectoralis major is trained by doing the barbell bench press first, then the dumbbell bench press. If the arm becomes weak first, it means that the triceps are too weak, or the triceps are more leveraged. The triceps should be strengthened, or the pre-fatigue method should be used to practice, first using single-joint movements to stimulate the chest.

The above is the difference between the barbell bench press and the dumbbell bench press. Due to the improvement of living standards, most people lack exercise, so many people are in sub-health. The bench press is becoming more and more popular among most people, so what is the difference between the barbell bench press and the dumbbell bench press? The dumbbell bench press is more convenient, smaller in size, easy to carry, and has better exercise effect.
