When teaching shooting, many teachers lack sufficient and effective teaching methods and means to help beginners adjust their shooting movements in a targeted and specific manner. People are accustomed to dividing basketball shooting trajectories into three types: high, medium, and low. Practice has proved that the medium parabola is the most ideal. The height of the arc depends on the shooting angle and shooting speed. The shooting distance and shooting height are also closely related to the height of the arc. Specifically, it is achieved by the hands and arms acting on the ball, depending on the angle between the shooting arm and the horizontal plane and the appropriate force applied by the fingers, wrist and arm.

We can regard the parabola of the ball's flight as a resultant force, which can be decomposed into two components: vertically upward and horizontally forward. We should start from actual combat, be familiar with the general rules, and be good at distinguishing each situation and handling it accordingly. For beginners, they should make timely targeted adjustments during practice based on the different situations of the last shot and the teacher's prompts to ensure the accuracy of the shooting action and the shot.

Re-understand the order in which the various parts of the body exert force when shooting

The traditional teaching method believes that the order in which the various parts of the body apply force when shooting is from bottom to top. When shooting, the lower limbs are extended, the waist and abdomen are stretched at the same time, the elbows are raised and the forearms are extended, the wrists are bent forward, the ball is flicked with the fingertips, and finally the ball is thrown out with gentle force using the index and middle fingers. However, more and more experienced teachers believe that for beginners, the order in which different parts of the body apply force should be re-understood. The order of applying force should start from the fingers and wrists, and mainly use the forearms and upper arms, and then coordinate the force of the waist, abdomen and lower limbs. Because beginners are not familiar with the ball, they cannot accurately control various parts of the body to exert effects on the ball in sequence when shooting. The fingers, wrists and arms (forearms and upper arms) play a dominant role in the correct shooting of the ball. Clearly pointing out the leading positions of the fingers, wrists and arms in the force application sequence during the shooting process can help beginners concentrate more, complete the shooting action in a more single-minded and specific manner, and improve shooting results.

For beginners, although playing basketball is a little difficult, once you master the skills of playing basketball, some things will become much simpler.
