I have several friends who are practicing yoga. What is the difference between hot yoga and regular yoga? I never knew the difference between hot yoga and regular yoga before. It was not until recently when I was having a party with friends and talking about interesting things about yoga that I learned that there are two types of yoga. It's true that you know everything about a profession when you are exposed to it. If you are a layman like me, you would know nothing. Seeing that I didn’t know these things, my friend told me the differences between hot yoga and ordinary yoga.

Hot yoga is to practice specific movements in a specific environment to give the body a comprehensive workout, and the movements are relatively fixed.

Traditional yoga has many variations in movements, which can be freely combined as long as they conform to the principles of body function, and the content of each class is largely different.

Difference in breathing: Because hot yoga requires more oxygen supply during practice, it is necessary to use breathing exercises to maintain the oxygen balance in the body. Therefore, hot yoga has fixed breathing exercises at the beginning and end of the practice.

There are many types of breathing exercises in ordinary yoga, with many variations, and most of them are practiced at the beginning of the class.

The difference in water replenishment: Since you sweat a lot during hot yoga practice, you must constantly replenish water to prevent dehydration.

Ordinary yoga will not cause a lot of sweating during practice, so there is no need to replenish water during practice.

Difference in energy consumption: Since hot yoga is performed under high temperature, it consumes more energy than ordinary yoga in the same unit time. Therefore, those who want to lose weight are advised to choose hot yoga for exercise, while those who need fitness, body shaping or other needs can choose ordinary yoga suitable for the general public.
