Are boxing and taekwondo the same?

Are boxing and taekwondo the same?

In our lives, we often see some children learning Taekwondo, etc., but there are relatively few children learning boxing. So from this aspect we can see the difference between the two. Boxing is basically strength-based, and Taekwondo focuses on posture. So boxing is more suitable for some men to practice, and Taekwondo is suitable for all kinds of people to learn. So what are boxing and Taekwondo?

1. There is no comparison between the two. Taekwondo is one of the official events of the modern Olympic Games. It is a sport that mainly uses hands and feet for fighting or confrontation. Boxing is a sport in which fighting is performed while wearing boxing gloves. It includes both amateur (also known as Olympic boxing) and professional commercial competitions.

2. The two belong to different sports with different rules and cannot be compared. There is no distinction between high and low in martial arts. The key lies in personal practice.

3. Boxing is a contest of physical, technical and psychological strength between two athletes through the confrontation of their two fists. The specific form of boxing competition is that two people wear special soft gloves in a square rope-enclosed competition arena and engage in offensive and defensive confrontation according to certain rules and technical requirements. The weapons for attack and defense can only be two fists wearing special gloves, and the targets of attack and defense are limited to the opponent's body parts above the waist and hips. Boxing is called "the art of fighting".

4. Mainly use leg techniques, with fists and feet used together: Due to the needs of competition, restrictions on rules and the characteristics of Taekwondo's offensive methods, Taekwondo techniques are mainly based on leg attacks, supplemented by fist attacks. According to statistics, in Taekwondo techniques, leg techniques account for about 70 percent of the total technical system. Taekwondo's kicking techniques far exceed boxing's in terms of attack range and attack power, while boxing's techniques generally focus on defense and blocking.

The above introduces some knowledge about boxing and taekwondo. These two sports are completely different, so they cannot be confused. And those who want to learn should learn about them in detail to see which of the two is more suitable for them, so as not to go astray or practice in a way that is not suitable for them.
