Through research, Professor Akihazu Takada of Hamamatsu University of Medical Sciences in Japan discovered that the biggest cause of human aging is brain atrophy, and the most obvious symptoms are tongue stiffness and dull facial expressions. Dr. Zhao Wenshuo from the Oncology Department of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that exercising the tongue regularly can indirectly stimulate the nerves in the brain and face, thereby slowing down brain atrophy and preventing aging of facial nerves and muscles. The tongue exercise method is as follows: 1. Stretch the tip of your tongue forward as far as possible so that the root of your tongue feels stretched. When the tongue can no longer be extended, retract it into your mouth. Repeat this 10 times. Then, move your tongue left and right outside your mouth five times each. 2. Gently press the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth, and then use the tip of your tongue to circle around the roof of your mouth 36 times forwards and backwards; or use the tip of your tongue to lick the roof of your mouth, moving it left and right 36 times. When your saliva increases, swallow it in three times. 3. Use the tip of your tongue to lick the inner gums, from top to bottom, in circles close to the upper and lower gums, 36 circles forwards and backwards. Then, use the tip of your tongue to lick the cheeks of your upper and lower lip for 36 circles, following the same order as above. When there is more saliva, swallow it in three times. 4. Roll your tongue inward so that the tip of your tongue can reach your throat; or roll your tongue up so that it can touch every part of your mouth. Repeat 3 to 5 times. 5. Open your mouth, stick out and retract your tongue, and at the same time use the fingertips of your right index, middle and ring fingers to rub up and down from the bottom of your left ear to the throat 30 times. Then, use the tips of three fingers of your left hand to rub up and down from the bottom of your right ear to the throat 30 times while sticking out and retracting your tongue. |
