What is the best time to go to the gym?

The so-called best time to go to the gym is actually a reasonable time to do physical exercise. It is generally believed that it is most reasonable for a person to exercise in the afternoon, as the body's reaction ability is the best and the muscles are relatively soft at this time. Exercising in the afternoon can also relieve stress and soothe nerves. Generally speaking, it is not suitable to go to the gym for physical exercise about 3 hours before going to bed.

Most people like to exercise in the morning, and there is an old saying in ancient times that goes "Hearing the cock-crow and getting up to practice dancing." But in fact, most people are not suitable for exercising in the morning. Under normal circumstances, the body's condition reaches a peak between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., and is most receptive to changes in exercise volume and intensity.

Scientists have discovered that 3 to 6 p.m. is the golden time for exercise in the human physiological cycle. Because the human body temperature is at its highest point, muscles are warmest and most elastic, people react quickly, have great strength, are less susceptible to injury, and their pulse rate and blood pressure are lowest.

Most people's body temperature is highest between 2 and 4 p.m., and then starts to drop. Conversely, the body temperature is lowest within 3 hours before getting up in the morning. If you exercise, you won't achieve the best results. However, health experts believe that there is no need to worry about the difference in body temperature. What is more important is to seize the time you can allocate to exercise.

If you like to exercise in the morning, it is best to continue to do so instead of changing it to after get off work, because it is obvious that you are the kind of person who will be dragged down by work and cannot find time to exercise. You need to pay attention to doing enough stretching and warm-up exercises before exercise, because the body temperature is still low in the morning, which makes you prone to injury and is not good for your heart and blood vessels.

If you go to the gym to exercise close to sleep time, firstly, it can easily excite your nerves and lead to poor sleep quality at night. Secondly, exercising in the gym too long before sleep can overload your heart, thus increasing the burden on your heart and making you more susceptible to heart disease. Specifically, 3pm to 5pm and 9am to 11am are the best times to go to the gym for physical exercise.
